Slate Grey is a flat, muted grey with a soft matte texture, not glossy, not metallic. It's the kind of colour that doesn't draw attention in a pocket or on a desk, which is presumably the point. The shape itself is unchanged from what JUUL is known for: a slim, rectangular body, draw-activated, no buttons anywhere on it. You insert a pod, inhale, and it works.

No chip, no vapour, full stop. The battery holds up better. Juul Labs describes the JUUL2 as carrying meaningfully more battery capacity than the original device, commonly cited at around 25% more, generally enough to get through a full pod or a full day depending on how often you're vaping. It charges on a magnetic USB dock rather than a cable, you just set the device on the dock and it locks into place on its own, and a full charge takes about an hour.
The lights actually tell you something. There's no screen, just a light system that does two jobs. Tap the side of the device twice and it shows your battery level, four lights lit means a full charge, each light represents 25%. Insert a pod and the same lights switch roles: white flashes confirm it's genuine, purple flashes show roughly how much liquid is left inside it.
The device pairs over Bluetooth with the JUUL app, available for age-verified users on Android. It's entirely optional. If you connect it, you get the ability to lock the device remotely, check your own usage patterns, and see its last known location if you've misplaced it. None of that is required to actually use the device day to day.

Keep in mind the two systems don't share pods. Original JUUL pods will not fit this device, and JUUL 2 pods won't fit the original JUUL either. Buy the device that matches the pods you actually want to use.
This runs on a lithium-ion battery, so treat it the way you would any rechargeable device. Charge it on a flat, fireproof surface, don't leave it charging unattended for extended periods, and stop using the device or dock immediately if either shows visible damage. Ordinary precautions, but worth stating plainly.
